  • Ouch!

I was bending some memory wire, and my hand slipped, I caught a bugle bead, and it shattered everywhere. Now I have lots of little cuts in my hand.

Is there any craft that isn't 'dangerous'?

    card making - paper cuts
knitting/sewing - stabbing yourself with the needles
    pyrography - burns
painting - paint in your eye (it happens!)
    wood - splinters

      owwieee!

Made me think about if any craft was indeed safe!!

I can't tell you how many times I've burnt myself putting models in and out of my oven or stepped on a cocktail stick or needle that I've dropped.

      Anybody else's craft 'dangerous'?

And to make it worse, I've just super-glued my fingers together!
So if I disappear for a while, it's cos I'm trying to unstick my finges on my left hand!

Forget superglue, get some E-6000, sticks just as well but you get about 10 mins to deglue your fingers.
And if we ever meet we can compare crafting scars!! bet I will win

Splash yourself with lye when making soap and it's really nasty (caustic soda)!

I think the worst one I've ever done was when I was cutting card with a craft knife and the blade snapped. The bit that snapped off shot up and hit me on the eye. Luckily I managed to get my eye shut before the blade hit so it just knicked my eyelid.

I discovered a lump on my hand today, after further inspection, I've decided it is a shard of that bead stuck under my skin!

Ohhhhh Louise, I hope you are ok..Take it easy and have a break.

Worst thing I did was I stood on a nail someone had put in a piece of wood and left it in the dark.. It went straight through my foot, 2 inches long it was..

Tetanus jab, but I was fine.. No pain. Just shock......

Hubby did that a few years ago at work on a big industrial machine which made fishing netting, etc - managed to slice open three fingers.
