How to save a document in read only format?

Does anyone know how I save a word document in read only format so that no one can change it? (I have Microsoft Office Word 2007) x

Tools > Protect Document > Editing Restrictions - check box - No Changes (Read only)

You could also convert them to pdf files with a free programme
http://www.primopdf.com/
This little programme also stops people copying any images too so very handy. Once it is isntalled you send any Office Docement to Print through it (rather than to your printer) and it creates the pdf file for you. Great if you sell patterns etc
