  • I've had good news and bad news.

Good news and bad news - The good news is that my eldest son with his entourage (4 children and wife bless em all) are coming up from Devon to stay for a few days.
Bad news is I have to make enough space in my workroom for a double bed!!!
By the time I have shoved everything under the bed to make space to walk round it they will need a step ladder to climb in.
Good news is by the time I have picked all my pins and needles off the floor I won't have to go out to buy more.
Don't misunderstand me, I love them all dearly and am quite excited at seeing them but a bit concerned what I might find buried deep in the workroom!!!!
I will let you know if I make any discoveries deep under the bench.
    Carol

I have filled up my spare room with all my craft stuff so I'm glad everyone lives near enough to go home at night.
Have you got a space in the corner of that room or maybe another room to put it all in boxes out of the way. If you ask in the local supermarket for some apple boxes they are a good size and have separate tops the same depth as the bottom so you can overfill them and still get the lids on. If they don't have any at the time they will often put them back for you, they did for me when I was moving.

When I tidy I normally find some thing and sit down and start working so I never get the tidying done. So maybe you will find some long lost treasure and think I forgot about that and start some new and exciting project !!

I'm definately hoping to find something that will kickstart me into crafty action again buried deep. The magnet is a good idea - thanks. As to the corners - already full with bags of - something - I've forgotten half of it. I have a job to find space to put the ironing board up. Perhaps if I pitch a tent on the lawn. (For the guests not my preciously horded bits). Ha Ha.
One way or another this could be an interesting weekend.

my craftroom is also the spare room and it has a single bed in it that is buried under a mountain of craft stuff. on monday morning i got a phone call from hubby saying his nephew and 3 year old son were staying the night i let them sleep in the living room as the thought of a 3 year old with all my stuff scared me they slept fine. the good news is my last daughter has just moved out so i can turn her room into spare room plus overspill crafting space.

Thanks Jan lovely idea but can't get 6 of em in the lounge. I already have to put two in there anyway. Two in the conservatory and two on the roof if I don't get my finger out!!!

Good luck with making space, we have a tiny house so nobody is allowed to stay round lol!

Hope you find something exciting that you have forgotten about that - I love it when I am clearing up and that happens

                          it is tent weather

I nice good tent should do. Funny enough I was at Asda tonight and could not believe that they had a huge tent for only £48 My daughter thinks camping is a bad idea and likes her bed to much but I am hopeful that I can get her to try it.

A nice tent in the Garden would solve your problem

Nice idea but the lawn is only the size of a pocket handkerchief. (Hubby's low maintenance garden).
I have cleaned out the workroom and found so much fabric I had forgotten about that I am starting several projects at once because I'm so excited. I can move back into it on Monday -Yippee. I now have a houseful of kids and grandkids. It's wonderful at the moment but another 48 hours of this and I will heave a sigh of relief as I wave them goodbye for another 6 months. It must be my age!!!!!

I have sympathy for you all! When we moved a year ago we felt like we had a really big house - but we managed to fill it up VERY quickly! I've totally taken over the study and my other half has to try and work around it all if he's on call - oops! Never mind!

It is true though - you can find some lovely bits when you have a clear out!

Hope you have a lovely week end with the family - perhaps you could do a craft game that incudes picking up all the bits!?!!?
