  • Why do they use fancy words??!

Ive thought that working in a coffee shop would be great, lots of people, busy, I get to walk around etc and theres one in town that has a sign saying 'barista and manger required'.

Its taken me months to actually think to myself, 'what does barista mean', and it means someone that works behind the counter/makes coffee etc .ie exactly what Im after!!

Why cant they just use normal words like 'staff needed', I understood the manager bit which obviously i cant do.But dont they know Im a little slow in the brain department, I could have been working there weeks ago.

Eeek, guess il have to be brave and go ask about it now.

Mmm, a barista is someone who can work a fancy coffee-machine, to make cappuchinos and lattes and espressos, and so on. They might train you to do it, though?

I bet they open at 7am to get the trade from people n the way to work, that pick up a fancy coffee on their way in...
                      Cheers,

I almost applied to work there as one of those too.

Cafe officially opens at 7am, so sadly that job idea is out the window.

We came up with a politically correct name for 'binmen' recently... Refuse Collection & Recycling Co-ordination Operatives.

Doesn't roll off the tongue though...
