  • How do I............ defluff towels

Hi there all. Can you answer the question for me please. I've had some dark purple towels for a while & when I have a bath or wash my face I'm left with a face full of purpleness, now I love the colour but I don't want to walk round like I've got the lurgy........ anyone know the answer to this please. cheers Linda

Try not using fabric softener for the next few washes. And if you've got a tumble dryer use that - it'll remove the fluff after only a few wash and dry cycles (hopelully) and then you can start using softener again.

Don't know why this helps but its something to do with fabric softener reducing the absorbancy of the towels.

Definitely try the tumble dryer, I'm a hairdresser and the amount of fluff that comes off all our towels every day even after 2 years is beyond belief!! It can really help de-fluff them, can't have you walking around with a purple face! Selina

I agree about the tumble dryer and if you can put drier balls in too. I got mine from Lakeland I think and they definitely help to defluff and soften towels.
