  • Dance evening...

So on Friday night I found myself at a social club at a dance evening for all us loons who have been doing dancing in the adult education programme... I managed to remember all the steps to the beginners dance - lucky that as my mind was concentrating on making sure I didn't slip in my tap shoes on the very slippery dance floor! Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the intermediate dance - still concentrating on that slippy floor and forgot some of the steps - but then maybe that made it look more difficult! I was pleased some of the other dance groups only had 4 people in as well as it meant I wasn't concerned about being in a small group....

The other dances were pretty good as well, though the poor old dears doing the line dancing were quite funny as they spent much of the time trying to face the right direction! We all gave them a resounding cheer though!

That now means no more dance lessons for me until September. I'm not sure how I'll spend all my tuesday evenings from now on!!!

It was quite fun, I guess it was an end of year get together so we could show off what we learnt to the other people learner other dance styles, then we could also have a go at a bit of line dancing, salsa and street dance.

I was wondering how it went Sounds like you had a great time.

I so wish I could start dancing again but have so little spare time atm. The school I used to go to do adult jazz classes on a Wednesday night, but it could be time spent making jewellery and time is money! But then a nice little break every now and then would be rather nice.

It was quite good fun, but with so many people wanting to try out new dances on the night the dance floor was always so full you couldn't really gain anything from it! Still it was funny trying to do line dancing when there is no space and you keep bumping into the people next to you!!

I wish I was brave enough to do dance classes - I've just been to see dd in her first dance show she was great. The adult lessons are tempting but i don't think I'd be any good. Good for you for giving it a go.

My teacher said DD can start dancing when she's 2. She's only 7 months now and I can't wait to see her do ballet in her little leotard. I've been dancing all my life so it's something I'd really like her to do. But I won't force her if she doesn't like it.

Shelley is nearly four now and she started when she was 3 and a half. she loves going, I wouldn't force her to go either, but as long as loves it she can go. She did twinkle twinkle little star in a shiny silver dress.

Actually I didn't but I had a tissue ready. I must be getting braver although I did have a lump in my throat.
