Make jewellery, sew on to pretty cushions, glue on to make nice note books, give to me? ha ha ha

The list is endless, how did you come by such a fab stash?

Oh, I wish I had your problem, love buttons. I'd make jewellery or use as decoration x

They are fab...I inherited three jars full and love them all. You can use them to make just about anything...they are fab as jewellery - saw some beautiful cascading necklaces made using flat buttons, button earrings, bracelets and rings...they make fab centres for flowers which can be made into brooches/corsages or added to bags, purses, cushions or clothing items...they can be used on books, boxes and bags or you can simply 'pimp the buttons' for someone else to use on their projects/clothing items. Have fun...and don't forget to show us some pics of what you make...

Thanks for some of the ideas - I think I need to really go through what I have and work out what is for the best. Some of them are huge and would look fab on handbags etc.... Could be a busy couple of months for me! I'll be sure to post pics x

My mum has an amazing collection of vintage buttons (I'm very jealous) Jewelery is probably the best way of showing them off but there's a couple of other things you could do. My mum picked out a lot of the shell buttons and sewed them onto a piece of black velvet in the shape of a heart then padded the back and framed it, it made a lovely picture. She also took some of the clear and black glass ones and stitched them onto a piece of neutral fabric and mounted them in a deep frame, again they look beautiful, a bit of original art! you could also glue them onto a photo frame for some precious family pics.
