Good stuff! Im a massive f1 fan too - didnt make it to silverstone this year as i blew the f1 budget on a trip to the australian grand prix in march! Havent missed a gp in 11 years and cant wait for donington!
Oh that is such a good post!!!!! It had me giggleing!!!!! My son has been an F1 fan from being very young. He NEVER and I mean NEVER misses it.
When he was around 12 he was in the Williams Supporters Club and within the club he won a competition to go around the headquarters at Didcot. What a day we had. He met Frank Williams and we had a lovely day. After FW's accident his wife wrote a book about their lives and I wrote and asked if she would sign the copy I had bought for Tim. She sent me a new copy signed and a nice letter!!!!!!!!!As Tim was growing up he was interested in the design of the cars and used to send his drawings off to differnet companies. People were so kind to him. They always replied with interest and they used to send him photos, tee shirts, all sorts really! He was very lucky.
Hope your hubby enjoyed the day, we were so pleased when Lewis Hamilton won!
It's a great year for the championship! I was at my new home which is close to Silverstone so we were predicting when it would rain as it was coming from our direction!
He's not bothered about football (hooray) . He has no interest in cricket (double-hooray) . But life isn't worth living if he misses any Formula One grand-prix action and every year he makes his annual pilgrimage to his Mecca ... Silverstone circuit. . So this weekend saw him camping in a field (in the rain), getting up at ridiculous o'clock in the morning (in the rain), queuing to be let in to the circuit (in the rain) and waiting an endless amount of time for anything to happen (in the rain). . .
I did manage to catch sight of him in the crowd on the tv. . .
Can you see him? . No? . Okay, let's have an extreme close up .... . .
I, in the meantime, have been doing some of this: . . Eating lots of this: . .
Did a bit of this: . . Spent quite a lot of time in these: .
.
Watched plenty of him: . . And did absolutely none of this: .
. So we're both happy in our little spots of paradise! .
