  • Dress and more buttons!

Emma singing ‘twinkle twinkle’ whilst posing for the camera!
    ___
I finished Emma’s dress today – Talk about leaving things till the last minute! It’s my niece’s Christening on Sunday, but I’ve been so busy since the new website opened that I seem to have forgotten about all the other things in my wip box!
I’ve added the crochet flower brooch that pink-petal sent me and used the same fabric button from the centre to add detail to the back of the dress.

I will add more pics to flickr later if you want to see them larger - http://www.flickr.com/photos/incywincystitches/

    Crossword anyone?

Did these just for fun today – Newspaper buttons.
    ___

    Fabric newspaper buttons
    – Obviously not machine washable!
    ___
The upside down button has the clue on it and the one you can see has the crossword grid. I made these by soaking newspaper in watered down pva, then pressed the paper onto thin calico to dry.

Goodbye to personalised bodysuits and tees -
    ___
I’ve taken my personalised Tees and bodysuits off TOGS as I just don’t have time to make them anymore. I’m sure they will reappear once Em’s started school and I have more time to make. But for now it’s goodbye to our personalised TOGS.

Confused?? Whilst taking them off TOGS mr site has somehow managed to lose my website!!! Not sure what’s going on there?? Just hope they find it soon

that dress is fab! and those buttons are so cool. Can you tell me where you get the stuff to make fabric covered buttons? the bits that go at the back and under the fabric I mean (fabric I can figure out the sourcing of, well, probably!!!) I bought some lovely ones at a craft fair on Sunday but would be thrilled if I could make my own...

I brought my button covering machine and shanks from a shop in Leicester, but I sell the prym ones on my website that you can cover yourself.

... And another suggestion overmilkwood - check out this etsy seller ...

They sell buttons to cover with a little tool. I don't think the back metal shank on this style button looks very nice, but I guess it's the fronts that will be admired
Plus there actually quite cheap, even with postage.
