As always ignore all emails unless you know the person sending it..

Ignore anything from banks paypal ebay..

AND never ever click on links in emails..

If you never click on a link in a email your never have any problems.

Yep, I got caught out with an Ebay one, supposedly a message from someone & they got my password, felt so stupid afterwards, but it's easily done.

Your fine as long as you never click on the links within the email..
e.g. email from ebay.. type www.ebay.co.uk into your browser and your be fine..

I can only think of 1 reason to click on a link in a email which is when you confirm an account like on this forum when you register, but that only happens when you request it.. NEVER click on a link for anything you haven't requested..

Thanks for the warning. I will watch out for anything along those lines.

My first thought when I read the article was that HMRC already have my bank details so the don't need to ask for them again. My second thought was they've already told me I owe them 48p, so................... anything else is a ****.

I have to say I am quite impressed! I may have been tempted believe it! The layout is pretty convincing.

Thankfully, I have all you guys to keep me informed, and now I know that I would never recieve something from the tax office via email.
