Tax refund question

Ive had an email on my business email saying Im entitled to a tax refund.

Do you think it is genuine?
Wouldnt they contact me via letter like they have done in the past?Ive never had an email from them before, plus its via my business email and I havnt made any money for the IR with my jewellery, only proper work.

I think Ive answered my own question.

A phone call to the IR will definitely answer your question.

If you've made a loss on your jewellery business then sometimes you can offset that against your PAYE on your regular job so its worth checking out. Having said that, you would usually get written confirmation of it and not just an email.

Definitely fake - I've had one this year, too - and I'm not even resident in the UK!
