  • Contact details on website

I know, I know, there's been loads of threads about this before

But I am doing my T&Cs (using the Buisness Link templates - they are really good, saved me hours) and I know I need to show contact info on the website, including a geographical address. I don't want to put on my phone number for a variety of reasons. For the address I was going to put:

Address*: XX XXXXXX Road, London XX XXX

*Please note that this address is for the receipt of post only and personal visits will not be accepted.

Does that sound ok or a bit dodgy sounding. I don't want to put people off, but equally I don't want anyone to turn up at my door.

    Thanks in advance

Well, it does sound a bit dodgy, can't you put it as a "correspondence address" and a statement saying your business operates on an e commerce and mail order basis only.. ?? Not perfect, but hopefully less of the "dont come to my house or else"!

I think you're right. Corespondence Address sounds much better and still gets accross the point that it isn't a physical shop.

      Thank you!

I state on mine that there are not any visitor facilities. I have only once ever had someone turn up on my doorstep from my free yellow pages ad, but it was no big deal.

I don't feel comfortable with the idea of having my address listed on my website. I was initially going to, but the designer of my website talked me into being against it. I just state on my Home page that "i am currently based in Northamptonshire" ... You could say something like "if you are interested in visiting me at my studio please contact me"

From what I can see you do not sell via your website so you don't need your address on it.

I agree, if you don't sell on your website, you can leave your address off it if you are uncomfortable.

If I am buying anything from anyone though, I wouldn't consider it if there was no purchase address on a website. I would just click on past to someone who does.
