  • DoYourOwnSite?

Who has built a site with these? I've just registered for the 30 day trial but would love to see what can be achieved before I start. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gail

I bought Sandvox software from Karelia and used one of their templates I found it easy to use and automatically builds a site map for google. My hosting site is Easily.co.uk again very helpful people costs me about £35 per year for the domain name and hosting. They had a trail version and are always adding templates it is easy to change templates if you fancied smethng different just click on the template and your whole site changes then publish.

Websites take time and mine is still waiting for more products which I am hoping to photograph this wekend, it is always a work in progress.

    good Luck

      Hi Caroline

I do like how you've arranged your site - I thought Sandvox was for mac users only though?

I need something easyish as I don't want to have to deal with html (we're talking dunce here!) and I've always liked the look of DYOS. I'd keep my current site because I get a fair few hits and I could maybe add a link?

Thank you, it is only for MAC users, which was one of the reasons I chose it and you do not have to use HTML as like you this is a tad too far to start with. I agree we need sites that are easy and quick to configure and use. I have heard of 123 reg and Mr Site a lot of members use the latter on here.

I use DYOS and for a total novice I got on with it ok. I would be unlikely to change when it comes up for renewal.
Have a look but remember the weakness with DYOS is the human in control so please be gentle

Terry, I love your site, and even more the jewellery you have on there!

I'm also trying out Moonfruit and liking it a lot.

Thank you for the kind words
I took AGES to decide who to go with, it was quite a process trying to 'know' who would be best for me.

Take your time, make sure its right for you and all the very best with it

Let us know when you are done and we can all have a look at your goods!

I set up my DYOS in August & found it really easy as I am a novice & didnt need any HMTL. Had no problems at all with them, very good support & a helpful forum if you have any questions. I wouldnt go with anyone else.

Thanks Caz, I'm working with DYOS & moonfruit to see which one I prefer. Nothing like being spoiled for choice is there, lol.
