  • Folksy, Etsy, Misi or another Online Marketplace?

    Hello there!

I'm putting together a document that compares the different online marketplaces, as think it would be really helpful for craft sellers who are trying to decide which marketplace (if any) they should set up a shop with.

    1. Would this be helpful to you?

If so, please reply to let me know:

    2. which online marketplace you would like me to seek information from
    3. questions you would like answered that would help you to decide which marketplace to use

The sort of thing I am thinking about asking relates to seller support, payment systems, methods for marketing their sellers and along those lines. I don't want to miss anything that is important though, so would love to hear your thoughts on what would be helpful to know...

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Best wishes,
    Polly

p.s. I will come and share the document on here when it is ready!

    Hi Polly,

That is a fabulous idea, I am very much looking forward to read your findings and share my knowledge (if any) with you.

    Best wishes,

    Andy

I am coming from Croatia and found out that the packaging and delivery (post) costs are rather high, sometimes I pay more for the delivery then for the item. Could you compare this information?

Handmade Horizons so many of these places arrive with a fanfare and die within six months this is a good directory of online places which might help you. http://ukhandmade.co.uk/onlinedirectory

You have taken on an enormous task I think if you came up with a top six and what each of them was best for you would be doing a huge service to craftspeople.

I suppose my basic questions would be
        sales
        selection
        audience
        fees

I'd love to know how much it costs to have an account on misi and how much it costs to list etc as I've searched their website over and over and it just doesn't say.

Site's that's aren't upright about that kind of thing are suspect to my mind.

After a couple of years of on going problms MISI is now up for sale so probably not the best place to use at the moment IMHO.
