Here is the thread for helping to sell on Etsy. I've been through the forums on Etsy and this is what I could glean from them! These won't be in any order by the way!!
The first thing is to get a banner and avatar for your shop - if you aren't very good at this then there are people on Etsy who can offer this service to you. Another tip is not to have too much information in your heading part on Etsy - you can put terms an conditions into your profile page and it will enable people to see your work quicker - they won't have to trawl through all the text first. The other advice is that once you have a decent number of things in your shop, only list a couple of things at a time - don't bust a gut trying to get things on there all at once. Listing a couple of things per day is better than trying to get everything on at once as it ensures that your work is seen on the newly listed things page and you stay near the top of the search lists. I've done this and seen more views on my objects than when I was trying to list altogether. Also photo's - the clearer the better!!
Here's a link to the top things on Etsy that are recommended for newbies - very good thread.

I can't think of anything else of the top of my head but here are a few more links that I found that were interesting.
