  • Craft Parties

    Hi all,

I've been thinking about holding a jewellery party but had a thought today about maybe asking people I know/locals who have skills in other crafts eg cards, candles, etc and maybe doing a bit of a collaboration as a party. I know that obviously giving people more choice means maybe less will buy from me but I'm thinking the more products we can offer, the more people we can invite through the door.
I know its all a bit up in the air but just wondered if anybody else did something like this, or if people would be interested?

Look forward to reading all your comments/suggestions!!

You see, I was thinking along the same lines. I'm a card maker, thinking of holding a party or two but I didn't think people would be interested in just a card party.
I was thinking there might be a local jewellery maker (or similar) that wants to join forces.
I think it would be the way forward.

Let's hope we both find what we're looking for!

      Hi.
I am, well we are (I have a jewellery buddy, she does silver I do gold) having a 'Bling fling' jewellery party in the local pub on the 19th. The Landlady has been our biggest customer (Ce. and I meet there once a week to talk beads). don't know how it will go as never done anything like this before, interest in the village seems high so far.
Only trouble with having a jewellery buddy is finding a name, she is Ce. (Celia) I am Di. (Dianna) so had a choice of Ce-Di beads or Di-Ce beads.
Interested to know if anyone else has down a party like this.

      lol

      Di.

I think that sounds like a fabulous idea. I mostly scrapbook so something like that wouldn't work for me, but I love all sorts of crafts and would definately attend something like that with my wallet in hand
I'm a happy scrapper, always looking for more friends to scrap with

I'm doing a sale in our local pub on 25th March, made a load of posters etc, put it on facebook and invited everyone I know, so hope it's going to be good, also the landlord rang to say a lady who sells bags & shoes would like to come in on the same night, would I mind? So I said no I didn't mind, but I get the best spot as it was my idea. I have never met this other lady (well I don't think I have), so we will have to wait and see how it goes.

What a fantastic idea. I would love to do something like that in my area but I don't know anyone else to collaborate with. I make baby and children's items like bunting, cloth baby shoes, bibs etc. I would definatley attend and event like this.

                  Great idea.
I have something similar planned with a friend who does Phoenix cards. I was going to have a jewellery sale pre mothers day as a coffee morning at my house.
Totally run out of time now with my college course needing work.
Hope it goes well for you, do let us know.

Crikey Millsy you're a forum addict - I can't believe you came on here after you got home last night.

Nattyclare is the one who was organising the get together I was talking about - she makes jewellery (I think)

We should get a few of us together to do a joint craft evening somewhere, I think it would work well.
