Tack or pin it lightly along the front edge of the table?
Or take some string etc in case there is a handy wall fixture behind you to hang it from in some way?

Front of the table is nice but when the millions of customers it attracts crowd round it will be hidden.

One trick I've seen is to put a table behind you, tie a bamboo pole/ tall broom stick thingy to each of the back legs of the table and another one across the top and tie it to that.

You could ask for a pitch under windows and rig up a washing line fastened to the handles.

What you really need is a free standing supporty thing. I've used a Medieval loom (not very helpful for you), sticks stuck into water filled containers meant to stop market tents blowing away in hurricanes, a clothes dryer and a screen. The best thing is my metal framed market booth - used indoors without it's cover but it's only worth putting it up at Fairs several days long.

I'm not being very helpful, am I?

you could make a wooden frame with legs for the banner and pin it to that and then stand that up behind your table so it will be a nice height and people can see it easily
