  • Is this clear?

I've just set up a new page on my website where people can order customizable 'alphabet charms' (e.g. the initial of their name). There is a photo showing a few examples and then drop-down menus to select the letter and colour they require.

Here's a link so you can see the page -
    http://laurasbeadedcharms.webs.com/b...abetcharms.htm

The thing is, I used paypal buttons on my site and their drop-down menus only allow 10 options in each box. Obviously there are 26 letters of the alphabet so I had to make 3 drop-down menus just for the letters (and then one for colours). So if you wanted an orange 'M' you would select 'M' from the drop-down menu 'Letter (J to R)' and leave the other 'Letter' drop-down menus as '*'. Then you would just select orange from the 'Colour' menu and submit. Is this clear? Do you think it's easy enough for people to follow? I wasn't sure if the other 2 'Letter' menus would be confusing...
Also, I have more than 10 different colours of beads so decided to just list the pictured colours in the 'Colour' drop-down menu and have another option 'Other' - where people can type the colour they want in the box below. The full list of colours I have available are listed in the FAQ section - http://laurasbeadedcharms.webs.com/faq.htm Is this clear too?

All feedback appreciated. And if you've got any better suggestions that's great too.

    Thanks.

Hi Laura, I must confess I read your description and was a little confused but now having visited the link, it all seems very straightforward to me. I shouldn't worry, I think people will be able to navigate the system very well.

Looks good to me... but one suggestion - if I wanted you to make my name, that's easy enough (KAS), but if I wanted to have 3 different colours how would I do that?

Or if I wanted to get a set of letters for all my friends, all the same letter but in different colours, could I do that?

I know, these are probably rare scenarios, but I do like to be difficult!

      Cute letters btw.

That's another thing that I wasn't sure I'd made clear. I mean, I could make a name I suppose, (did you mean attach the letters together?) but KAS would be 3 letters which would be £10.50 (not sure people would pay that, lol!) and it's supposed to just be one letter per submission. I guess you could just contact me about it - I think I'll put that in the description.
Or if you wanted the 3 different colours, like you asked, you could submit them separately and then add a further note asking them to be joined up. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, but you would have to submit them separately. For example, select the letter then the first colour and submit, then change the colour and submit again etc. (You can try it out if you want - submitting just takes you to your shopping cart, so you won't actually be committing to buy, that happens once you've comfirmed your cart on the paypal site and gone through the checkout).

        Thanks to you both.

That's what I would've done It'd make quite a nice necklace I think, a few letters together... but that's quite beside the point.

I've made a few changes so hopefully it's a bit clearer now. What do you think? http://laurasbeadedcharms.webs.com/b...abetcharms.htm
