impromptu tree collage - -
There's a slight emergency with our 4 week old grandson, so we have the 2 and 4 year olds out here for a while...I have Hazel cutting out any green and any brown pics from a couple of flower catalogs...we're going to make a collage of a tree! We'll tear or cut all the pieces into smaller pieces and glue them helter skelter until the tree takes shape. I don't even want to use an outline of a tree, just start "forming" it as we glue. Walter will help glue. Hmm, I think i may have some old colored tissue paper somewhere - maybe we could do the sky and ground with tissue sheets...guess we should put that on first.
I'm trying to think - if we get the first layer of the tree down, how could we make another sort of layer, that would give it a 3-D effect. Maybe little cardboard cloud shapes glued with various greens...then glue them to pieces of thick cardboard, and stick them on. Hmmm....or twist some brown paper bag strips into branches and glue on some greens...and stick them on...hmmmm.....
And when your children have made their art/craft work then take a photograph and pop it into this group on Flickr! http://www.flickr.com/groups/[email protected]/ I thought it would be good to have a group for artwork and crafts that children create
