  • New Website - what do you think?

I have recently set up my website and would appreciate some good feedback.

Please go through the navigation and tell me what you like/don't like.

When you first start it's very difficult to know the best way to go about things. It makes sense to me, but I spent many hours developing it.

I would appreciate good comments and particularly good criticism. I'm a bit of a perfectionist!

Also advice on blogs - how often should I write things???

    Really grateful
    Thanks
    Take care

    Kathryn

    Hi Kathryn
I like the colours, the logo and the general look & feel of the site..very easy on the eye. When putting text on the site a handy tip is to cut and past the site text into a word doc then do a spell check..e.g. you have piece spelt peice in the first paragraph. These are only minor things and easily rectified though
It would also be good if you could put a few pictures in amongst the text, e.g. in the intro section maybe a workbench pic? They tell a 1000 words and make it more likely that a visitor will continue to read.
Another suggestion is the product section launches straight into pictures of the product....I almost missed the left hand section with the actual shopping links.

Hope that helps, well done on a great looking site!
    Nic xx

i like the look of your website too, all i thought you might want to change is 'peice' to piece on the home page.

I think it is lovely - my only comment is when you click on Pendants you then have to click again to see the actual stock- can you remove this extra step?

Hi kathryn. I really like your site, the colours and header are very nice and it is well laid out and easy to get around.
Just a couple of things I wasn't sure of - that you have to click on Products and then on Dichroic Cufflinks and then again on Cufflinks to view the actual products. Also, I am not sure why you have Add to Cart and Buy on each product - maybe just a View Cart or Checkout button at the bottom of the page would be better. Also I think the prices would be more prominent next to the Add to Cart button rather than under the pictures.
Sorry to be so picky but you did ask for constructive critisim!!!!.

Your jewellery is gorgeous by the way

              My website

Thanks for your comments - I do have some problems with your ideas. As far as I know I can't around the two step click to get to the individual item. It's a template site already set up so quite limited.

The purpose of the 'BUY' button - you simply purchase that one item or alternatively 'ADD TO CART' you can add multiple items. Again, can't do much about this one.

I will have another look if I can improve on these points - I will have a tweak.

Thanks for all your help. The site wasn't so bad after all.

              Cheers
              Take care
