  • Please does anyone stock good quality pinking sheers

Before I go on line and take pot luck on quality does anyone sell good quality pinking sheers. The local fabric shop looked at me as if I had asked for something out of the ark. Surely they are still used although we have zigzag stiches and overlockers. Actually my papercrafting SIL wants them.

    Many thanks,

I seemed to accumulate lots of these last year whilst trying to make bunting for my wedding. I bought a cheap pair from hobbycaft, which are just rubbish! And a more expensive pair of fiskars on the Internet. It does seem to be true ... You get what you pay for!

I remember my Mum having some hi-grade steel pinking shears for dress making etc but don't know what happened to them.

I got a pair of Friskars Deckle edge (random like on the old photos) but still can't find a good quality pair.
I don't know where to but a good pair but also don't want to waste cash on buying another pair of the same poor quality.

I'm still hunting and will let you know if I find any.

Looks like it's going to be Amazon, just thought it would be nice to support one of the suppliers on here.

Like those decorative ones Vik, great for papercrafts.

          Hi Mo
Yes I use them on the vellum Certificate with the acorns, I also print the "aged" edges onto it then trim them all by hand, looks nicely aged too. Some people use the term "Artifake".

I rely on them quite a lot so I need a good/quality pair, I have seen rulers, wheels etc but they're not what I want as I need more control.

          Good luck on Amazon.

My local wool and haberdashery shops (I've moved around a lot) always have them but it doesn't matter how much I spend on them they are rubbish. They all don't cut one little zig per stroke and you can't imagine how annoying that is when you have miles of ziggy zagging to cut. I've tried wheels, rotary cutters, I despair.
