  • Leeds Steampunk Market 2nd & 3rd March 2019

Leeds Steampunk Market brings you their first market of 2019 held at Abbey House Museum, Abbey Walk, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS5 3EH. (Opposite Kirkstall Abbey).

    TRADER INFO

LSM are not curated events although we do invite traders, artists and authors that are the best in their respective fields and try to avoid duplication where possible. We do encourage new people that wish to trade to get in touch and I receive emails on almost a daily basis from new traders asking to be at our events.

I also invest a lot of time in finding new creators, artists, authors etc through social media and the internet in general. This is the reason I no longer publish trader lists is because I am sick of rival events picking off my traders as they are too lazy to do their own work in finding names themselves.
We invite traders we believe have a unique offer for our customers and would like to keep it that way – we don’t want everyone selling the same thing.

Looking for art and crafters that do
steampunk, Victorian, military, gothic, dark and spooky, faery, pagan, LARP, roleplaying, historical, heritage crafts, Sci-Fi, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, geeky, nerdy, comics, gaming, modelling (railway and dollshouse), a bit of Boardwalk Empire/Game of Thrones thrown in, vintage, alternative (but NOT in a fetish/burlesque way) ..

If you are interested in trading please email leedssteampunkmarket at gmail dot com

    ABOUT THE EVENT
    This is Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd March 2019.

Doors open at 11am Saturday, on the Sunday they open to the public at 10am, all stalls open and trading up to 5pm both days.

Sunday's entertainment will be Jessi from a brilliant punk band called Eastfield doing a short solo accoustic set at 1pm and 3pm. I've known him and his band for at least 15 years and looking forward to seeing him play again as they used to play some of my punk gigs.

There will be a flying display from one of Amy Jo Lawrance's owls from her Flying Squadron on both days at 4pm.

Recruiting for the Coffee Jousting (that's right, we do things different at LSM!) commences from 1.30pm for the tournament to take place at 2.30pm on the Saturday only.

Captain Cumberpatch's Curious Creations will be donating medals for the prizewinners (silver, gold and two bronze) and one also for the Coffee Jousting Beanmaster (the host). This is free to enter!

There will be a tombola run to raise money for a named charity which all the traders will be donating to.

The museum's own Gatehouse cafe will be open to the public selling hot food, wine, cake and cuppas. This means we will not have our own hot food vendors outside for this event.

Customers will be paying normal admission to the Museum itself to be able to access the traders as you will be mixed in with the whole building, the exhibitions, displays and the layout.

    Admission prices are:
    Adults - £4.95,
    Concessions £4.00,

Max Card - General admission is free.
Admission is free to members of the Leeds Art Fund, Friends of Leeds City Museums, the Museums Association and the National Arts Collection Fund.

Please note this museum only allows assistance dogs in the building.
We are also advised by the council's Parks Department that although the car park is not secured overnight and is outside the museum, they do not allow overnight parking. (Whether they enforce it or not we don't know - anyone wishing to park up overnight for trading or visiting in a campervan it's up to you!)

... stick a cog on it and call it steampunk...
