  • Crafts Fairs in and around South Wales

    Hi there,

Would anybody know of any craft fairs that are due to take place this month in South Wales? I live near Pontypridd so would be interested in knowing of any in and around Rhondda Cynon Taff, Vale of Glamorgan, Swansea, Neath Port-Talbot, Merthyr, Torfaen, Cardiff etc.

I have checked out most of the council websites so am hoping someone might know of some I may have missed!

    Cardiff Craft Fairs

    Hey Christina,

I'm looking for craft fairs near Cardiff too, although I've only just started searching so can't help you yet. If I get any info I'll pass it on. I just had a look at your website and your jewellery is quite similar to the stuff I make. How long have you been crafting for? I'v been making bits and pieces for a while but I'm hoping to get a bit more serious in the new year-unfortunately I only had this brainwave last week so I won't really have enough stock to do any Chrismas fairs, of which I think there are quite a few around the Newport/Cardiff area.

Anyway, good luck, and I'll let you know if I find out anything

      Hey Steffi,

I actually do have some lined up now. It took a lot of hunting and word of mouth but I do have a few on the run up to Christmas. Unfortunately I think most will be booked now well in advance so you might struggle. I would suggest though that you ring around your local schools as they often hold Christmas Craft Fairs and chances are you'd be able to get in. I am going to be doing St. Donat's this weekend and then Cwmcarn Forestry the following. There is also one being held in Swansea on the 8th-9th.

I do know that there are currently spaces for one that is being held on the 8-9th in the Mumbles if you'd like the contact details for that one.

They hold one every year in Caerphilly in December but apparently that books up at the beginning of the year.

It's also a really good idea to go on council websites and look at their events listings. That is how I find out about a lot of mine.

I have been making for about 10 years but only seriously in the last 2 years. I'd love to get into it full time but at the min it's just not feasible.

Thanks for the reply (and the info). At the moment I don't really have enough stock to do any fairs leading up to Christmas (I know it's probably the best time to sell stuff but hey). I'm sending a load home though for my mum to sell in her school's christmas fair.

FYI the art shop inkspot still have tables for their fair on the 1st of Dec if you are interested (it's on newport rd), though beware, I'm sure you'll end up spending all the money you make and more in their amazing shop (I'm addicted to that place!).

I'm planning to set up a shop on Etsy or similar, but it's probs gonna be in the new year as I have two jobs at the mo!

Do you know anthing about the fair in Canton, apparently it's every three weeks or something?

        Anyway,thanks again for the tips.

Hi, I've been looking for craft fairs too! I found one in Pontyclun Community centre,10th may, 1-00 - 4-00, and they seem to have one every couple of months. I don't know how big it is though. Have you tried the local farmer's markets? They have craft stalls.
