  • Interested? Craft fair, Tamworth (Staffs)

Hiya. I am thinking I might look into a craft and gift fair in Tamworth or near by. No ideas yet, but putting feelers out.
    School or village hall?
    Saturday or Sunday?
When's the best time for christmas shoppers?
    Anyone interested???????????????

I think it comes down to location more than anything - e.g somewhere that people are going to pass and notice there is a fair, or somewhere near the main shopping area that again people are going to spot.

Hmm, am trying to think my way around the town centre for places to hold events. Having only recently moved back to the area I'm rather out of date about what's still around that would be reasonable rates.

It may sound a bit odd, and may now be different, but the library used to let all sorts of people use their foyer area - it itsn't huge but you'd get a few tables in there! They have upstairs rooms used for presentatoins too.

Presume its still there(!) but how about the Arts Centre ( round by the Co-op)?

Many years ago I went to craft fairs at the Snow Dome/Peaks. Not sure what the present situation is there though as there was a management crisis going on!

I think the venue will depend on how much advertising you think you can cover. LOTS of advertising to bring people to us, or somewhere very central so they are passing the door!!

Sorry, nothing very definative there, might spark another thought though!

Thanks for your suggestions. The library would be a good idea, will look into that one.
The art centre is now the regisrty office, so unless we are all intending getting married while we are there!! Maybe not!!
Not sure of where else in the town. Was wondering about Polesworth (my sister lives there!!) The library hire a hall, that is on the high street, so might be possible.

Had a reply form Newton Regis village hall. They will hire me the hall for a sunday in October. seems quite reasonable, but not sure of any passing trade, would have to be well advertised.
                  will keep looking

Newton Regis is a nice little village but I don't think you'd get any passing trade.
                        Will keep thinking......

                          Off topic sorry...

Sorry I know this is totally off topic but Tamworth is my home town which I left in 1994 to move to Newcastle upon Tyne. The Arts Centre is a registry office???! I used to do gigs there when I was in a local band in the 80's! How outrageous !
