  • Fantastic School Fair Last Night

I did an shopping evening last night in a large secondary school in Milton Keyes - and it was fabulous - my best so far by a long way.

There were about 15 stalls (including a beekeeper who had the most fabulous homemade vanilla honey) and at least 5 of those stalls were your raffle, tombola type thing.

But the people just kept on coming and (not wanting to sound mercenary but..) kept on spending - at least they did on my fudge and the girl next to me who was doing cards (not handmade) - the irony is that I only started taking fudge to events as I got fed up of throwing away cakes that didn't sell.

It's given me the boost I need to carry on with the other fairs I've got booked this year - though it's left me a bit light on stock for the events I'm doing this weekend - I can feel a night in front of the stove coming on...

I hope this is the shape of things to come - for all of us.

Sounds like a really great evening Ursula - well done.

Could be that people are now getting out and spending - fingers crossed.

Hope you didn't have to burn the midnight oil (or cooker) to catch up

          Well done Ursula!

I have to say that I always look at how well the cake/sweetie stalls are doing as if they aren't doing well, we are all in trouble!!

I am really pleased that your fudge is going well - it must taste great! (all samples gratefully received....)

Hope you are recovered (evenings are really tiring) and do great at all your future shows too.

                    That's great news! Well Done!

The school fairs have been mostly good this year for me too.

Have had a couple of fantastic ones, couple of really good ones, a not so good one and the busiest ones of all turned out to be the worst night by far for takings, so you just can never tell.

                    Bet your fudge is amazing

That's fantastic ! You can't go wrong with fudge at a school fair

I had a good school fair on Friday, sold loads and took lots of bookings, having said that I still didn't really enjoy it that much....read my latest blog entry and you will find out why ?!?

Oh sphangle, I do feel for you. Your blog made me giggle. I find it hard to fathom why some places don't provide something a simple as a chair - especially if they provide the tables. Maybe they think you'll be so busy you won't have time to sit down at all.

Glad it went well for you though.
