        l had a good day

l wasn't sure if l should post this as people seem to be having a bad time at craft fairs at the moment. Well l did my first one yesterday for 20 years and made £125 which was fantastic - the stall cost £15.00 and it was 6miles from home. l havn't got any more booked but l look for the type of venue they are held in and am being picky - this one was held at Salford Art Gallery.
The footfall was low but people were buying and all the stalls were craft.

l sell hearts, pin cushions, corsages all low value items so need to sell alot to make a profit but people seem to have £10.00 to spend rather than £20.00 so went for my target market and just made lots of these types of stock and kept the expensive stuff at home and for this fait it worked but who knows next time? l went with the thought Art Gallery, Uni - Young arty types and l was right.

they sound nice we do feel our craft is for the young uni type but as I say that we sold a pair of lilac mohair slippers with a pink flower on to a woman in her 60s for herself. we are going to try the Sheffield uni but we cant do many in the week as my daughter works and I have a dog so hubby as to have a day off
kept up the good work and let me know how you go on

I missed you two on Wednesday, Patsy!!

Wednesday at Bakewell was really good, not as many people through the door as on Monday but there was a steady flow and more spending, good day!

I'm very new to all of this but my first took £130, second £210 (no fees to pay out or petrol).

Different story for the third, no sales £30 loss. It turned out to have been badly organised & poorly advertised. Valuable lesson though & made some good contacts.

Fourth (selling to girls in office at work) £130

Hoping to do another next week.

I think it's totall beginners luck - how long til the bubble bursts?
