I've not heard of these folk before and just wondered if anyone knew what the shows were like? They advertise as gift fairs....

Great name for a fair, I imagine all kinds of revival stuff.
Beware of 'gift' fairs though as they will probably be a mixture of brought in, fairtrade and handmade. Fine if you don't mind the mix.Design, not rocket science. Illustrator, graphic and web designer, mum of two, wife and self-appointed font police.

Flashback Fairs
Did you managed to find out any more about Flashback Fairs or did you exhibit at one of their shows? I'm looking at doing one of their shows in Dec and wondered what they were like...

who are flashback fairs???
hi all
we are a new company who are starting off with an antique, retro and vintage fair in november, then our next two events are the christmas gift fairs in december.
we are antique dealers and event organisers with over 30 years experience.
for the person who said "Beware of 'gift' fairs" they are what they are, we advertise them as gift fairs NOT CRAFT FAIRS so they will include anything which can be deemed a gift,
i hope that clears things up for you all, we have had lots of interest from trade and public alike.
anyone wants any info contact us

Thanks flashback fairs for clearing that up.
You make a valid point, advertise your fairs as gift fairs and visitors should realise that not everything is hand made.
The thing that annoys people more than anything, is an event advertised as a craft fair, only to get there and find items for sale which are obviously bought in, or mass produced.
For me, if I visit a craft fair, I want and expect the person behind the stall to have made the items on the stall.
It is the same for stall holders. I currently have a regular stall at an event advertised as a craft and gift fair. This was clear from the start, so no complaints from me. I like the venue, and the people.
If I want a purely craft fair I will go elsewhere.
Good luck with your events
regards
John

I too was just looking for some feedback from fellow crafters as I'm new to the world of fairs! I'm really hoping that festive fairs will be reward enough for all the hours and hours of work I've put in!

We are sat in the Ashby event at the moment and it is RUBBISH! Last week at Kelham was a disaster and this week looks like more of the same - there are some stall holders here in virtual revolt over lack of visitors and charging for entry. We won't be wasting our money on these again and advise others to think long and hard before exhibiting - the only person making any money is Flashback, we are going to lose money two weeks running now. Merry Christmas Flashback Fairs.......
