I would hope that for £25 you would be doing more advertising than in just one newspaper

Hi, yes I would put in at least 3 papers.Grays.Romford,and Basildon,I also intend to do flyers. That is if I get crafters to want to do it.

You may have difficulty in getting commitment from crafters on an undefined event.
Although it is wise to try and establish interest first, unfortunately you need to secure the location/date/time and work out a cost before crafters can establish if they are available and whether they can afford a stand. Will tables be provided? Electricity? For example - I don't do Saturdays so if it was on a Saturday that counts me out etc. Other crafters will have events already booked in Oct (I know I do) so knowing the date is key to being able to answer your question.

This is by no means a comprehensive list and I am not an organiser but as a potential seller these are questions I would ask. HTH

Have to agree with Aviya Glass, you may find that you get loads of people saying "ooh yes I'm interested" but then you book the event only to find that they were not "serious" happens all the time I'm afraid even to large organisers.

I was speaking to one the other day (not from the forum, I'm talking big money organiser, well established etc) about an event in late August which they have just had to cancel through lack of bookings, yet when they first announced it, they were inundated with "possibles"

Doesn't help I know but if you can make a provisional booking of the venue (before paying a deposit) you can then tell crafters and start getting bookings confirmed.

As to advertising don't forget the internet and radio, these are all free, don't just rely on newspapers and flyers, I get far more response to my fairs from the internet and radio mentions than I do to paper ads, although I still do these too. In my view you can never do enough advertising!

                fair

Hi, thanks for all your help on this matter.I know that it is hard to arrange
this sort of thing, but I have done many other different events. Also people
keep asking for fairs in my part of Essex,so thought I my give it a go.
We are still in only the planing stage.
As for advertising,I did a craft fair not to long ago, and they said it was
advertised, but only two people came in the door.I dont think they could
have,do you? still that's how things go.
