  • Robin Hood-Newark?

Has anybody ever attended this? I have had some info through form Aztec events and it looks quite good- they have also two more of the same name set up for the south this year. It is a two day event at Newark Showground and apparently attracts a lot of people. I am slightly concerned though as it isn't cheap for the two days and is in Oct, but i'm very tempted!!!!

What do you think Laura have you had a look? I got my form to get a stand through today, and my pal said she will help me man my stall so i think i'm gonna go for it!

Hi I have done an Aztec fair. Yes it was busy, but it was a lot of money.
£160 for 3 days.It all depends on what you sell. I had handmade cards, and only made my stall money back.So I gave my things away just to be
there for 3days.If your prices are high then go for it.Let us know how you get on, good luck.

          Hi Dee Lightful

I have asked if they have space for me, being jewellery I am often too late with these things as I spend too long worrying that my stuff isnt good enough or if it is to far a way!!

I will let you know when I hear anything.

The more expensive fairs are usually worth it IMO. Depends what you sell, and how you market, though. I can see it being a problem for cardmakers.

I'd make sure you take as many business cards and leaflets as poss, promote your website (could you offer some sort of freebie for a first order from the website? Buy two, get one free, 10% off, free P&P, whatever works for you?) and promote anything else you do, like party plan.

You could also offer a little freebie (money-off voucher would do) if potential customers answered a very brief quesionaire about buying from you online (makes them more likely to look at your website afterwards, and could get you talking to them). Your pricing structure needs to be able to accommodate this though, so think it through first.

I used to do some of the bigger more expensive fairs years ago (pre-internet) and always promoted parties, and between sales and party bookings, it was well worth the extra stall fees.

I'd go for it! Good luck

That's great advice, thanks Wendy. I am usually pretty bad and don't allow myself enough time to sort out my advertising but as its october-i have no excuse

              Laura- have you heard back?

I have found in the past that smaller fairs don't go well with my products! They are quite highly priced, and I refuse to keep reducing them as materials etc cost enough in the first place. So hopefully this kind of event might work!

That's a good idea about the website, mine is currently undergoing a revamp so i may introduce this anyway!

              Thank you
