  • Blackburn Art Market July 22, 24, 25

There was a thread recently about an art market in Blackburn in July, but (as far as I am aware) there were no contact details given.

So I googled and found this:
    http://www.blackburn.gov.uk/server.p...onWebDoc.47369

The stalls are £5 per day, or £10 for all three days. It's on 22nd, 24th and 25th July (Wed, Fri, Sat).

They just ask that whatever you sell comes under the banner of contemporary art.

I did find some details about this, rang them up and was told to write in applying for a stall, I could only do the Saturday. Since then I have heard nothing from them, not even a thanks for your request.

To be honest I am getting a bit sick of this from organisers, this is the third one this year, even a thanks but no thanks would be nice, but to hear nothing at all is a bit rude and makes me not want to go to them again.

I will give Blackburn a bit longer to get in touch, but Great Harwood show and Salmesbury Hall are off my list of want to attend now.

Delta, if you click on the link in my post, there's an email address for the person who's organising it. I have already received my confirmation, so I would email if I were you.

You know what local councils are like - your letter is probably sitting on the wrong person's desk, and it won't be found until November because that person is on long-term sick leave!

Hope you have a bit more luck this time! It sounds like it could be quite a good one to do.

It was that person's email address that I sent it to.

        I shall try again.

Do you think handmade cards & Wedding Stationery fall into this category ??

It was me who posted the original post but I didnt put the email address on becasue the emails kept bouncing back, and when I kept ringing they kept saying she was on holiday, and I didnt want hundreds of angry forum members accusing me of giving false info! However, she did ring me back when she got back, and just accepted me over the phone and told me to fill in the form and send it back with a cheque.
I like to make things - usually a mess!
Please look at my stuff and let me know what you think!

Delta - maybe Lauralou's post explains it a bit. I just assumed you'd sent a letter, not sure why someone wouldn't reply to an email.

Sara - you can only ask . If you would describe your cards as contemporary art, who is to judge they're not? A difficult one, I would've thought. Don't know if they are sifting through applications in any way or not.

Lauralou - thanks so much for posting the original thread - I couldn't find it, which is why I started another one. I would never have found out about it otherwise. Didn't want to tread on anyone's toes, but it took me a while googling around for a contact and I thought others may not have heard about it.

Best wishes - may see you all there
