  • My 1st craft fair for 3 years!

I've finally got up the courage to book myself a craft fair for 9th May. Am excited but got butterflies at the same time - thinking how will I dress the stall, will I have enough stock.... and I don't have up to date business cards or anything...

Does anyone know where I can get those big pegs from to clip my table dressing to the table to stop it flying all over the place?

    thanks!

    Sarah

Search on eBay for "tablecloth clips"

Good luck on your fair - I have my first at the end of May

        Hi sarah

Well Done on booking your first fair in 3 years!!! I cant imagine how daunting you are feeling.....but you will be fine!

I had a think about the clips you are after, have a look local in the big yellow phone book if you have a retail display/stock warehouse or shop near you....i have one near to me and they sell bags, tissue paper, signs display stands etc...you may find some there or if you are near a local market you could ask to borrow some off a nice stall holder??

Failing that the good old bulldog clip (May need a few) clipped to the cloth under your table (so you cant see them) may be an option.

Hope you find some and wishing you lots of luck for the 9th
        hope this helps
        cheers

I just want to wish you the best of luck, Sarah. I have just booked my first craft fair for about 20 years!!!

Sorry can't help much with the clips thing. I used to hold a display stand on the table with a clamp at the back. It was handy to hang carrier and paper bags onto as well, and it kept the cloth in place as well as the stand.

I haven't got round to organising my table yet - my fair is booked for the 31st May, and I booked it on here!

Hope it goes well. Make sure you let us know!

            Fair table cover

Unless you are outside sometimes it's easier to drawing pin your table cover onto a wooden table. If you have to use bulldog clips etc please make sure that they cannot be seen and also cover your table to the floor on the public side but also the ends. By pinning the cover onto the table you can make neat corners, but also have less risk of any visitors or your self treading on the cover.

If you still want clips, if you google Market Stalls, a lot of sites have a sundries section. There are many weird and wonderful 'this'll hold things down' devices on there.

woodenlady, you've just reminded me! I used to use safety pins to make neat corner-folds on the cloth on my table! Ha! I wonder how long it would've taken me to remember that otherwise?

Anyway, as I remember, it worked well: the pins were easy to keep out of sight, and it made the table look neat. Hid all the paraphenalia under the table too! I shall be using this method again!
