  • Craft Fairs in Carmarthen??

    Hello to all Crafters!

We're about to move to a village called Nantgaredig near Carmarthen. Does anybody know of any regular indoor craft fairs in the area please? At present I live in Wiltshire and in my area, the Farmer's Markets are held twice a month and crafters area invited to join in once a month. It's a great atmosphere and it's cheap too!
Do you have Farmer's Markets in Carmarthen or the surrounding area and if so, do they allow crafters to join in?

If I can't find any regular fairs, I shall have to give up the crafting and try to sell off all my stock!

    Hello,

    Croeso I Gymru!

I used to live near Carmarthen and unfortunately it is a pretty quite place regarding crafts. There is a market in the centre of Carmarthen, its not really craft items though.
I will have a chat to some relatives for you and contact you soon.

    Thanks
    Chloe

I'm a bit further over, on the West coast. Based on my experience so far, I'd say that you have to do a fair bit of travelling to get to fairs.
There is a fairly regular event called the Lazy Sunday Market at Rhos-y-Gilwen you might want to contact/visit for info.
The Country Markets people (which I think used to be WI markets and changed) also welcome crafts.
Abergavenny still have a regular craft market.
Aberystwyth Uni have a (by selection only) Christmas event which lasts 8 weeks and is basically an unattended stall.
You could join the Pembrokeshire Craft Makers (they stretch their borders to non-Pembrokeshire members) and they have very regular events.
But in general you have to travel a fair bit in Wales.

Thanks for the information. I'll try the ones you suggest and keep my fingers crossed.
Perhaps...once I've settled in after our move, I can look into starting up a craft fair in my area! Well...a girl can dream!

          Best wishes
