  • General question about craft fairs

I have never been in craft fairs here in UK but it sounds very interesting. Is the meaning of fairs to sell self made products or just show them? Can't wait to visit one of them and meet other crft people! How you people have found these fairs? Did you make good contacts etc? I would love to hear some stories from experienced people.

    Thank you in advance,

    Jen

and have an enjoyable day out, in places with good atmospheres, meeting new people with similar interests, leaving the kids and/or the OH at home.

Some of us like to make money too, but it's not the only reason why we do it!, most of us would have given up long ago if we were in in it just for the money

craft fairs are generally for handmade goods , although some do have people who buy in their goods.
If done properly with the right advertising , venue etc they can be excellent and you can make good money but I've still had a good time at some where I've made next to nothing.
Most of my fairs last year where either found through here or via friends made at craft fairs, crafters are a nice bunch of people and will often recommend good fairs or give the contact details of fairs they know are coming up. Some of my fairs were by word of mouth , one organizer to another and some by buyers telling me they know somebody who is doing a fair and giving me the details.
I'm sure you'll enjoy visiting one

they are great fun if organised well (no pressure on me now )
it has to work for visitor and stall holder but many organisers only think of there pockets (hence our mission statement again nice pressure for our first events)

But if done right it can be a fabulous event for all involved and a great way to learn more ideas and meet new people
              Cheers
