  • So, Fairs This Weekend

So seeing as it's nearly the end of the selling season, just this weekend and next, who is doing what where this weekend?

I am doing a 2 day Christmas event at Gawthorpe Hall in Burnley, would be nice if anyone was in the area with a spare hour or two to come in and say hi. It is a nice hall to walk round, I think it's Elizabethan, but I do know that it was owned by the Shuttleworth family, who were the BIG family round here (my monster's actually go to Shuttleworth School!)

I think another member of the forums is at this one.

    So what's everyone else doing?

    Working......

    Hey,

I was going to do Delapre Abbey as it's just down the road, but as I'm working Saturday night I thought it was going to be a bit too much (plus, I found out it was in a marquee and looking at the weather I can imagine it being FREEZING!!!!!!!)

I've now decided to do Penkridge on the 20th, so I'll probably spend a lot of Saturday and Sunday making cards for the lovely people of Penkridge to buy

Tomorrows fair is my last one of the year , it's a local one to me in Seagrave, Leics and I've done a few there this year and done very well at them so fingers crossed.

plus it's indoors , next year I'm buying thermals to wear for outside fairs !!

Good luck to everybody who is doing a fair this weekend or next

On 19th I'm doing a pre-school coffee morning and 20th I'm at the Cocks Moor Woods Leisure centre (kings heath, birmingahm) community fun day / arts and crafts day - that's my 1st full day one and I'm a bit nervous
If anyone is coming along to that or has a stall it would be great to be able to say Hi in person! so let me know

          Hi Sally,

Sorry to hear that you decided against doing the Delapre Abbey fair - are you going to pop down for a look round and say hi? Would be lovely to meet you

We're doing the Delapre Abbey fair on Saturday and Sunday - had an email last night and apparently the marquess are being moved to near the stable block (something to do with hard ground) and they will be trying to HEAT the marquess... I'm going shopping for thermals today lol.

Yes, I'm going to try and pop down if I can - might try and get my dad's christmas present at the same time!

I only decided not to do because I have some overtime at work on Saturday night, and I think it'll be a bit of a rush (and a bit stressful!) to try and fit both things in.

At Ludlow Mediaeval Fayre they had hot air blowing into the complex marquee at a few points, and some stalls with substantial space had braziers (with fireguards).

Even so many found it cold - so even if they get heating in at Delapre better wear the thermals anyway (you can always remove a layer).
