  • Good luck needed please.......

PLEASE Wish me luck for tomorrow as I am at Weeley Village Hall, Essex with Mrs Christmas (who is holding a craft fair), I really want to do well as I am feeling rather deflated at the moment. I have only taken my mosaics to 3 other small craft fairs and haven't done very well at any(weather wasn't too clever at any of the events though!!!) I really love what I do and try to put on a good display, I get very good comments but no real sales, I wouldn't mind but my pieces range from £3.50 to £25.00 so I don't think I'm over-priced.

I really do need the luck fairies to shine on me tomorrow, any good luck appreciated

Thank you and of course the best of luck to you too. I will update when I get home tomorrow (assuming I'm not so worn out from selling hehe). I shall sit now and think positive thoughts for all of us at fairs tomorrow and hope that we all do well

How did you get on? I did quite well today although I no others weren't so happy & I believe one just covered their fee. I was very happy with my takings but I think it more luck & I was just the right person at the right time

WOO HOO I'm happy, the fair was only from 1-4pm and the table fee was a donation to the chemo unit at Colchester Hospital, Essex. It was organised by a lady called Ruth Clark who "becomes" Mrs. Christmas, it was a lovely afternoon with a great atmosphere, I didnt have very high expectations as it was in a village hall in the middle of nowhere and I passed it twice before I found it (No signs or advertising!!)

HOWEVER, I took £45.50, not a lot for some but for me this was great, the highlight being that I sold my highest priced item, an arabian shaped mirror!!!!!! My parents were there too with their stained glass and shabby chic wooden phrase hangers, they both did really well too.

All in all I am over the moon and cant wait for my next fair (next Saturday).

Thanks for all the good wishes (maybe thats what did it, hehe) and hope you all did well too.

BTW, Mrs. Christmas (Ruth) passes on this bit of info, she has had breast cancer earlier this year, hence the fair being in aid of the chemo unit, and before that she had a brain tumour, all the way through she has remained positive, if terrified, she says that anyone diagnosed with cancer or who has a friend/family member who has been diagnosed (I know of at least two on the forum) should stay positive, there are treatments available and she is living proof that it can be beaten. There were other women and men in attendance at the fair whom she has met at the chemo unit and they agree, positive attitude and a strong will to live are a must and as they all kept saying IT CAN BE BEATEN. So good luck and best wishes to those on the forum and their friends and families who are going through this.

                              Hi Diane

So gad that your day went well, I know the place really well as I lived in Clacton sea for a while and one of my oldest boys was born in Colchester Hospital.I think you did amazing with no advertising and it is out of the way.Selling your most expensive item must of given you a great feeling and sense of pride.Lots and lots of luck for all you future crafts fayres and will sprinkle lots of fairy dust on your craft fayre days.
