Hello everybody
I've only just discovered this forum, and am hoping for some response from fellow Artists/Crafters.
I have had many years experience as an Artist/Crafter, and have shown work over the past few years at various venues in East Anglia. I am now trying to set up some fairs myself for people who can't afford to pay hundreds of pounds to attend the big shows, but still make, and want to show, quality work and are genuine crafters and/or artists.
My first Fair, if I get enough response from exhibitors, will be at IPSWICH CORN EXCHANGE, in the ROBERT CROSS HALL, on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9th 2006. 10am - 5pm.
The venue is in the centre of Ipswich, the hall is large enough to take 20 exhibitors easily, possibly a few more. I am hoping to attract both crafters and artists wishing to show original work.
I see a lot of people on the forum comment on the lack of advertising for events - this Fair I promise will be well publicised!
The set-up will be a choice of a 6ft table, or a 9ft x 3ft booth with facilities for hanging work, with a table if required.
I did have the choice of a three day event, but decided on a one day this time, as I am not sure what response I am going to get from exhibitors. If things go well, longer events are in the pipeline for next year. (There is in fact still the option to do the three days this year, but I will need a deluge of people wanting three days! It's up to you!)
If you are interested, and want to show genuine, good quality crafts and original art, please do contact me for details. At this stage I am trying to encourage genuine makers, and am saying no to imported goods, unless I have too many spaces left. In any case they will be asked to pay an extra premium for a table. Definitely no to exhibitors wanting to show the contents of a retail outlet - sorry, it's not fair on genuine crafters.
Well, I'll leave it in your capable hands....
