  • Charity Fair Stall Percentage Charges

I have been asked to an evening charity fair and up to now I have been asked for 10% - 15% of the takings. However I have been asked for 25% of the takings for this event - is this a reasonable percentage? I don't mind paying 25% if this the 'going rate' but I don't want to be ripped off either. Can anyone help please?

    Hi,
I've never been asked for more than 15% but then I've only really done small events like village, hospice or school fairs so not sure about larger events.

Only paid 15% maximum, 25% seems a little steep to me but if it's a charity that you want to support strongly then I guess you have to make a decision as to whether you think it reasonable.

Ouch! I'd say the same, depends how passionate you are, i know for me that percentage would mean quite alot of my total amount. Hmmmm requires alot of thought methinks!

I agree 25% seems a lot, is this on total sales or just on profit? One I went to asked for 10% of profit allowing for the cost of materials to be taken off. I know this is a bit more complicated but not everyone adds that much particularly on items such as cards, the mark up may be a minimum. I think you have to think how passionate you are about the charity.
