        Hi Elaine,

Not heard of those either. Please give us the details of what they do??

Sounds ok, but I too prefer a bit of wine included!!!

            Pamper Evenings

Pamper evenings do appear to be growing in popularity.

It's the new trend of the old 'tuperware parties'.

Instead, people now have jewellery parties, hair and nails, botox parties etc. Haven't times changed! What's wrong with tuperware??

They are usually great fun, everybody has a drink (or four) and so******e for the evening and spend their money buying your gifts.

These pamper evenings are also good for fund raising.

            Hope you do well.
            Take care

              Hi Elaine
I have done a couple now at my children's school and have done really well. These are aimed at ladies they have several stalls selling jewellery, cards, candles, soaps, Virgin V, someone doing massages etc. Hopefully there will be a couple towards christmas again.

I've organised a couple of these for a local charity and also had a table at a couple. Sales are usually good because ladies tend to have a glass of wine in one hand and their purse in the other and they're all relaxed after a massage!

I did one a couple of months ago and it was a complete disaster - didn't sell a single thing ! Mind you - lots of the other stalls didn't sell much either so I think the people that came to the pamper evening were only there to be pampered and not a lot else !!

Have done a couple of home parties as well and these were very worthwhile !

I've done a couple of these and they were a sucess especially the second time as I made some cards, including some for Christmas and they sold alongside my paintings. Like all these events the more people who come through the door the better and its also good if they're advertised as Pampering and shopping evenings as ours was. Then people know to bring they're hard earned cash along. Good luck with yours.

Yes a friend of mine who is a qualified aromatherapist and I started this about 3 years ago, I would take my gifts and cards she would do taster sessions in a separate room. We gave 10% of total sales in gifts plus a massage to the hostess and it went really well. We both got work from these evenings afterwards, however, this line has now died for us and we just do Open House a few times a year at my home.
Good Luck as it sounds quite new in your area.

                          Re pamper evening

I have been invited to do a stall at a pamper evening for the past 2 years now, just after christmas, and although you only have around 3 hours for selling, it was a nice atmosphere, sold lots of smaller items and a couple of larger more expensive things, people from the previous year came back for more after buying previously.

The only pamper evening I did was lovely, very relaxed and because people knew there were handmade crafts there as well they came with money ( as opposed to some craft fairs where alot do come to browse )

They do seem to be becoming really popular as it brings the ladies of a community together by the promise of a glass of wine and hand massage or two ...what better way to spend an evening !!

Pampering sounds lovely... I thought at first it was just about hair/nails/massage etc but the shopping element sounds like fun.

                              Oh - and the Wine.

                              And the chocs...
