Have just been having the same thoughts myself! I've used an old hatstand, but as we do very different types of bags this may not be appropriate. I put a piccy on my blog if you want to have a nosy

I just took a peek at your blog RBLady and your stand is looking really good and colourful. Couldn't resist looking at the N'hampton balloon festival as I've been to it myself a few times. My sister-in-law lives opposite the old racecourse where it is held so we can just cross the road to it.

Do you have an Ikea near you at all? They have some great storage solutions that might work for you.

        Good luck with the fair!

Dee you have some beautiful bags

just an idea but would the plate stands that you can buy be any good for the clutch bags?

Wilkinsons stock the clear acrylic ones, plus wilkos is a great place for display ideas that arn't to expensive

I use a childrens coat stand for my long handled bags i also pack out the bags i have on my stall so people can see them better !!!

I like to try and add some height to by using a big white box and a 3 tier cupcake stand filled with little items !! I sometimes use an old suitcase and a wire bust i found on holiday .... i usually just have a good look around the house and see what i can use !!

I would set up your table at home first so you can see what it looks like , i always think having some height to your table is important it can make all the difference !!

Sorry i have gone on a bit i hope you have a good fair !!

Thank you all for your feedback - it is much appreciated!
Dee your bags are lovely! It is definitely worth setting it up at home first. I had a very set idea of how it was to be set out, but that changed completely when I tried it

Saraeden - what do you use to pad out your bags with? I'm experimenting with inflated carrier bags at present, but they keep going down!! (despite sellotaping up the holes I hasten to add!)

Well I had a trip to staples as is just around the corner, ended up buying quite a bit!Bought sum in-trays, i know sounds strange but gonna put upside down, and use as step for the nicer bags! will def experiment with my stall before. The Plate holder is a great idea for my clutches, i think will pop wilko 2moro.

I do already stuff my bags as they do look much better with life to them! I just used tissue paper though.

Thankyou so much for your compliments and your advice! Looking forward to seeing some of you at weekend. I just hope other people appreciate my bags too!

If you want to pad out your bags you could try inflating some cheap sandwich bags with the zip lock top. They would be easy to inflate when you get there and deflate before you pack up.
I sell jewellery, but have recently branched out into shopping bags as well. I use a clothes hanging rack with some S shape wire over the bar and hang the bag handles on them.
Another lady who sells handbags and just uses a couple of upside-down boxes draped with fabric at the back of her table, she stands some on top and others leaning against the boxes. The boxes are the ones she uses to transport her bags in.

bags filled with the polystyrene packing peanuts are great for displaying bags, the bags flatten at the bottom which means the bag being displayed will stand up on their own...plus they are really light to transport

I did a fair where a lady used this method then just put some pretty tissue paper on the top of the bag of peanuts , looked very pretty and was very effective

I use bubble wrap with tissue on top !!
I sometimes have a bag on display with a magazine , a make-up bag , a purse and a few other things in to show how much you can fit in them !!!

Good luck with it all !!

Oooh, some good tips there! I like the sound of displaying one with contents - I could do one full of shopping! Will have to play around with the stuffing - I am trying to go for minimal volume so inflated sandwich bags sounds positive. Going to mooch in the shop to see what bags they have
