  • Gala day!

    Hello everyone,

I am attending a gala day in three weeks at a local british legion which I am the only craft stall attending, as this is going to be my first time selling any of my items I would like some ideas on how to set my table out and whats the best way of marking my stock with the prices?

Also what can I use for advertising my name?

Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you soon

First of all good luck, I hope you have a really good day.

The best thing I can suggest is doing a trial set up while you're at home. That way you can decide what looks best and just recreate it on the day rather than try to figure it out when you're there.

Pricing items tends to depend on what you make and how you're displaying it. For example some of the products I sell come in different sizes so I write the prices on a pice of card and stand that between the sizes rather than price individually. For other items I use those string tags and some I stand little place card type prices next to the item. I have some things in little baskets and I stick labels to the baskets.

With the layout of your table, you want to add some height to it - you could use boxes under the fabric or proper display products. It's personal preference and costs that usually determine what you do!

and for the advertising I find that I prepare display signs in A4 and other strips which fit 3 on an A4 page - on my printer showing my logo, what I do etc and put double sided tape on them. They can then be stuck to the front of the cloth covering your stall in the best position for passers by to see them. Just one idea for something that is easy, others I am sure will come up with other ideas.
