hi there all , please could someone help , i`ve just started making necklaces and bracelets and wondered what the best type of thread/ wire is to use , one that has high breaking strain and where could i get it ....... any advise warmly welcomed xx

Hi there, to be honest it really depends on the design you are going for...maybe you could provide me with further info?There are so many types of wires you could use...

beadalon wire 7 strand is a good start, tiger tail also comes in 7 strand and I actually thought they were the same thing until recently, but there is a bit of brand snobbery going on.

Basically it's really string flexible wire with a plastic coating, use crimps to secure it to your clasps etc and to also hold beads in place if you like.

for very basic one, try using the clear elastic one. it works for me!

There is the scientific wire company who supply just about any wire you can think of. Google them.:D

I generally use Tigertail wire. It is both strong and versatile :)
