Can I use felt to embellish knitting?

    Hello everyone
I'm knitting a little girl's cardigan at the moment, on previous projects I've embroidered flowers etc. I wondered if I could use felt to make embellishments for this one? I'm thinking of little felt owls, but am not sure how the cardigan would wash, any advise would be very welcome please. Many thanks.

Felt will shrink and go out of shape when washed, so the answer would be no. You could use fleece tucking in the edges as you stitch but fabric would be better using no fray round the edges and stitching with a close satin style stitch.
