Pinkdoodle - shout if you've sold something!

Having seen Pinkdoodle mentioned on another thread recently, I thought I'd do a quick straw poll to see if it's worth using. I set up shop on there 4 months ago, but have pretty much abandoned it for the following reasons:

    - no evidence of my fellow crafters (or me) selling anything
    - no visible development of the site
    - no response when reporting bugs
    - glaring ommissions when using the site as a buyer (the sellers were not provided with my postal address, and neither of us received confirmation emails from anyone other than Paypal)

I'd be really interested to hear other people's experiences. Has Folksy (which in contrast seems vibrant & active) cornered the UK market or is Pinkdoodle still viable?

Think that's half the problem! They're like Folksy but with a lot less going on:

Any Pinkdoodle sales out there? Apart from the things I bought?!

            It's another UK online marketplace ... pinkdoodle.com

I signed up a while back but never opened up shop. I've had no newsletters or anything from them though

I've not heard of them either - marketing is obvious great then!

But I do love the name - it's quite catchy.
                Take care

I opened a shop there, but found most of the views I got were my own, never got a sale, so took my items off there and moved them to folksy (where I have had a sale!)

I didn't really feel with pinkdoodle that anyone seemed to be around to move it forward - on Etsy and Folksy you do know there is an admin presence that respond to and develop strategies/marketing etc.

I think you've pretty much summed up my suspicions there Cloudhopping - won't be going back to waste any more time on Pinkdoodle then! Thanks all!

Pinkdoodle site has come up with 'we're re-vamping our site...keep watching this space' . It will be interesting to see what they do!

I received this by email today. I think we will have to wait and see what happens.
                          Dear Pinkdoodlers

We have been very fortunate to count amongst our users some very loyal and committed customers. We also recognise that many of you will have become frustrated at some aspects of the Pinkdoodle site, which we sincerely regret. Since our launch this year, Pinkdoodle has been unstinting in its efforts to improve all areas of the site, and we are now very proud to announce that we are shortly to launch a new site, which we fully believe will address all the issues with which some of our customers were less than happy.

We expect to launch the new site very shortly, and we shall write to you the moment it is up and running. Meanwhile we regret that we have had to close the old Pinkdoodle site in preparation for the launch of the new site.

We hope that you will continue to be Pinkdoodlers, and we wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and perseverance. We should also like to assure you that we value you and your products - which we look forward to seeing beautifully displayed on the new Pinkdoodle site.

                          From the Pinkdoodle Team
