View Full Version : Feeling overwhelmed

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed with ideas etc that you just can't even do one of them? My head is always buzzing with so much to do with cards, that sometimes I can sit there for hours with all my stuff around me, but just can't seem to make anything..... goin crazy I thinks. :?

Don't worry I have they same problem, the more I have/want to do the less I get done. plus everytime I pass a craft shop I end up buying something new, it was easier when I only had a little bit of stuff.

Every now and again I make a list of cards and work through them one at a time. Its sometimes the only way to get anything made.

Yep, making a list is a good idea.

I started an 'ideas scrapbook' a few months back, even the silliest or smallest idea I have for a card I draw it down so i wont forget it, its also a process of getting to a better idea.
Its getting so packed Im looking around for a new one.

This is amazing for me but Ive tried to become rational with my spending.I think if I havnt done somethong with the things I already have there is no point in buying anything new.

And I am trying not to buy any new things, But I desperately need a heat gun, having bought some embossing powder, it took too long over the lamp I used, in the end I got so impatient I left it on the lamp, forgot it, walked away and when I went back it had a nice brown patch.
It's amazing what you can do with some foam, ribbon and silver pens ;-)
I had to rescue it I had put too much work into it to start again..

It was my first attempt at embossing so I thought I could get away with not buying a heat gun until I was sure I liked doing it.
Luckily it didnt actually catch fire!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen the sky high prices of heat guns.

I got mine from Argos, heat gun, gold/silver emboosing powders and 1 clear stamp pad all for 20.00!!!

Did you get a heat gun??

The nearest Argos to me that had that set in stock was Chatham, I live near Dartford so that meant difficulty parking too [I use a wheelchair] so I went to Crayford hobbycraft and bought a heat gun there 14.99, but as I had a 3.00 voucher if I spent 15.00 for which I needed to spend another 1p, so I thought of getting peeloffs for 99p but decided on a Tree punch, which was 2.99 so it cost me a penny, and I saved on petrol and stress of finding parking in Chatham. So I lost out on the embossing powders and pad but as I already had two pots of silver and several ink pads I decided it wasn't worth the time and hassle.
Warmest wishes

Superb! You still got a great bargain.
I meant to look in the argos catologue last night to see if they still did it but I got sidetracked.

I havnt embossed for ages, I know me and I go through phases, If Id spent 30 on a heat gun and bought powder and ink on top of that, then used it only a few times like I have I would have kicked myself, so I tend to go for cheaper deals.

Let us know what your embossing, and if you have any tips on hoe to do things. My embossing is awful.

For reference-They still sell the embossing set on age 1454 of the big purple and white Argos catalogue.

Im so stuck, like Ive hit a wall.
I want to do loads of ideas but its sourcing the material I need for a good price, getting it exactly as i want it,waiting for things to arrive, trying out the best ideas, time ticking by.
Its like a big hurdle, I hate wasting things, especially time and ive spent all day doing nothing.
I feel like im spending a fortune and not getting anywhere!!

Grr, its annoying me so much!!I went to place an order on a site the other day and they didnt have half the stuff in I wanted and there was a minimum order amount so I dint buy anything instead of making up the amount with things i dont want.

Hurdles hurdles everywhere, money spinning out of control!!!Ive gone mad and loopy, Im melting melting meeeeltiiiing.
