Hi Ruth,

A bit of a late reply but thought you might appreciate the input.

I used to use Pebeo porcelain 150. You can 'fire' it in your oven and it hardens really well. I used to use it with my glass painting classes and I had a number of tiles/glass squares painted up which i took backwards and forwards to classes regularly. The paint never peeled or chipped off.

I have used pebeo paints with children (painting mugs and plates) and they seem to work quite well. The mugs we have did wear but we put them in the dishwasher and I guess you won't be doing that. You can also get pebeo markers which are thick and thin ended, these are particularly great for kids to use.
I think like anything it is just getting used to working with them to achieve a required effect.
