View Full Version : A Couple of Cards I made :D

I am new to card making, and am not professional at all, just enjoy doing it. Anyway, I made these two cards recently and just wanted to share. The first one is for Halloween (and will be sent to one of the Post Pal kids, not sure which one yet)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/Sues_Pictures/For%20My%20Use%20Only%20Please/craft%20stuff/My%20Cards/halloweenBat.jpg The background on the inside is actually done with the moon painted in Tippex (well it worked!!) and glitter glue!!!

The Second one is for a girl at Post Pals who quite likes elephants. I got the decoupage pictures online, and the background too, but lightened the background using transparency on a graphics program I have. I wish though that I had put the elephants nearer to the centre of the card, trouble is, by the time I realised, it was too late to move them they were well and truely stuck!!

As I said, they aren't perfect, but for me crafting is something I just enjoy doing

They look great, Sue. I'm sure they will be very well received!!

(The elephants look fine where they are!!)

They are brilliant, love the Elephant one.

Thanks Seahorse, the elephant one came from a site that does decoupage patterns. They are obviously for personal use only (and I'm just sending these to someone as a card, not selling them, so its ok), but its getting me into 3D decoupage, its just somehow nicely relaxing to sit in front of the tv cutting out bits of paper and making up a picture!

You have patience thta I dont have.
i bought decoupage stuff a few weeks back and it did my head in cutting all the bits out.
Does that mean decoupage sheets are NOT copyright free!!How annoying!
I bought a sheet because it had a willow pattern on it which I hoped to use, how come the comapny that make the sheets can sell it but crafters cant??

To be honest Seahorse, I don't know if decoupage sheets are copywrite free or not, I just know that the ones online that you can print from are usually for personal use only. It might be that if you actually purchase the sheets then its ok to sell the end product, I guess its another case of reading the small print!!

Why cant we take somebody elses hard work and make it our own ,why I ask you whhhhhhyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Id be mightily cheesed off if somebody took my artwork and used it for profit but they must be aware that we enjoy working with whatever the medium is , rubber stamp, photos, decoupage sheet, and would let us know for sure if we can use it for profit.

that there are "ANGEL" sites that allow their work to be used copyright free!
go to

then click on the
Crafty Talk button
and then

for more information as I havent got the actual link my self
You can alter how many searches you want if you can't find it on the first page. Just put in a different number in the appropriate box.
I will try to find the actual link myself and post back but at least this may give you a head start.
