View Full Version : Starting a business: choosing designs

Hi again everyone,

I have another question about starting up a card business.
There will be the natural tendency to check out other websites just to gather some ideas in terms of card designs. But to what degree can it be done without ending up copying some designs? In other words, the goal is to create your own designs but one may end up copying some by looking at too many other website just to get ideas. On the other hand, are there already some basic designs that anyone can use and wouldn't be considered as copying? Thanks.:)

Where are you based?

I think it is inevitable that people will come up with similar ideas for their crafts, e.g. two different card-makers will both have a design with a present on it but in a different style, using different materials, colours etc, and they wouldn't look the same. The best thing about crafts is being able to personalise your designs so just go with what you think is best!

ru Japanese? ;)
