I've made some bags but I'm not sure if they'll sell, or, how much to charge for them... (apologies for the poor quality but I took the photos in a bit of a rush!)

oh i love them! Especially the animal print one ! How much were you thinking of selling for? I cant really see the size but personally, i would pay about 15. Were you thinking more or less?

Thank you for the compliments :D The dimensions are 49cm across the bottom, 28cm across the top, 27.5cm deep. I was thinking of selling them online. 15 seems good to me, I just had no idea how to price them up.

Right they are quite large and could be marketed for knitters, sewers and other crafters!!!
I think 15 - 20 is reasonable!!!

There are so many uses infact..........beach, shopping, the works!!!

Let us know how they do!!!

Great bags.
You can easily work out the price by how much the fabric was that has been used and how long they took to make, by deciding how much your time is worth an hour.... and there's the price, so you can make sure you are making a profit.

I think they are great. I'm sure they will sell at 15-20. I love the two flowered ones in the first picture.
I think a smaller version would also sell as handbags.

Hi Jayne

I really like your bags :jump: I think the price 15-20 that everyone has thought sounds about right. Although have you calculated what each bag cost you to make (material etc and time)?

Hi Jayne

Many thanks Annette, unfortunately, I've no idea what they cost to make, I used fabrics that I bought a while ago and, as they were made whenever I had some spare time, I've got no idea how long each bag took to make (what a silly billy I am :D).

I saw a bag just like this today in a spoty flora fabric a young girl was using it as a school bag.

Lovely! I sell really similar ones for 20 & they seem to sell really well, the more adventurous fabric combo's seem to sell quicker.

They are seriously nice. I think the 15-20 price bracket is a good one and quite a bargain for a handmade bag.

Jayne, I know exactly what you mean! I started with very conservative fabrics and plenty of plains. Then hearing people's ooh aaah comments on the ones that were my scraps just put together made me a bit more confident. A really good tip is to get some white card and pin one bag on it, go away then come back and look at it afresh. You then see it anew rather than with your critical crafters eye!!!!! And I seem to have my fair share of those about my own work.

Wow, they are gorgeous! I love florals and I'm into black and white at the moment so that one's my favourite. They're a great size, long handle for slinging over your shoulder and enough room to put everything in, super! And the price you're thinking of is good too. Can you put them in the washing machine ok?

Thank you for you compliments :D I'm not sure if they're machine washable, some of them are lined with dupion silk and others have a contrasting coloured lining. I've not actually tried washing any of them!

I am not too big on bags, although they do look attractive, not sure if 15 is the right price, just because at craft fairs customers expect to pay about 7 or 8, but that is up north.. good luck
