Yep, I pickle at home. I use safety pickle which you can get from kernowcraft.com or cooksongold.com. I just follow the instructions. No need to heat it, you just make it up with warm to hot water and then use it as you need it. I make it up in an old plastic ice cream container then keep it loosely covered with an old tile or something like that to stop too much evaporation. Just remember that when you want to tip it away it has to be neutralised with bicarb of soda.

Pickle is a liquid used to remove firescale from sterling silver when you have been soldering it.

I also use Safety Pickle and wouldn't be without it!

I use it as I need to in a glass bowl which I keep just for that, after pickling I put my work into a tumbler to both work harden and polish.

                Safety Pickle

                Hi,

I just bought some safety pickle, thinking I would be sent instructions along with it.... but nope! I've emailed the company I bought it from but have yet to hear from them...

So, I have all this safety pickle with no idea how to use it I know it should be used with warm water, but in what proportions? And I know that with some pickles it matters whether you add it to the water or the water to it... is it the same with safety pickle?

Many thanks in advance for any help with this!

                Janie
