hey hey, Im working on starting my own greeting card business, I need a little help, now there gonna be very simple, photo based.. of my photography, Ive bough some cards from hobby craft to work with just to try some stuff out, but really I want to find a company that will print my photos straight onto a card into bulk.. At the moment, ive bough some cards with squares cut into them & you stick the photo undernieth, but im gonna have problems with fingerprints ect, thats why I want to get proper photos printed, is there something I can do to prevent fingerprints ect on hand printed cards? I really need a bit of starter advice, ive got a name ect... Just need a hand with starting it up, what I need ect, would really appreciate itt!

This might sound obvious but why not wear those soft lint gloves. They are the sort that people wear for archive work.

I agree with the glove idea as I use these when making my soaps as when they are first made can be quite sticky and this stops the finger prints. Another idea would be to try and scan the pictures onto your card - this way you can also add some type onto them.

Good luck with your new venture

Hi,
I've printed images directly onto the cards. As long as you use double fold and a good quality card then you should be able to get some decent results. I used publisher to hepl with positioning and being able to add text. This is a good starting point to test the parket and no horrible finger prints. I would also like to sell more of the cards I make so good luck with the venture!

Have you thought of matt rather than glossy paper?

just to try the effect how about popping them through a photocopier?

i once did this with fabric! sellotaped some down on an A4 piece of paper and sent it through the machine! worked a treat - until the librarian saw me.... just an idea if you know anyone who has one

Hi
I don't know how feasible this would be but waht about using aperture cards and covering the front of the cut out with acetate, kind of like a shaker card, maynot be the look your going for but could stop the fingerprints.
Otherwise, sounds obvious and time consuming but google print shops or what your looking for and see what happens!!

Good luck with everything
